* CompactFlash card for Apple II To Ship Soon

Rich Dreher is now taking orders and plans on starting shipping his new
CompactFlash/IDE interface card for the Apple II by May 10th.  There are 2
versions of the card available:

- standard version for $100 
- "experimenters" version which has an easy remove EPROM for $110.  

Shipping charges are $5 in the U.S., and CompactFlash media is not 
included.  Both will handle up to 4 partitions under ProDOS and 8 and 6
drives under GS/OS (with additional driver).

Also included will be a user's manual, as well as the GS/OS driver by Dave
Lyons.  The card will work in either an enhanced //e or the IIGS.  The
card comes with a 90-day money back return policy and a one year warranty
against product defects.  Currently, Rich is limiting orders three units

* Apple PugetSound Program Library Exchange revives Call-A.P.P.L.E.

After years of inactivity, the Apple PugetSound Program Library Exchange
announced recently that they are reviving their 
Call-A.P.P.L.E. publication.  The focus of the re-formed magazine will
continue to be the Apple II series but unlike the old magazine, it will
also include a focus on the complete line of Apple computers, including
the Macintosh.  More information including subscription costs can be found

* Silvern Castle v7.4 update Released

Jeff Fink has released a new update for his popular Silvern Castle
game.  Version 7.4 includes the following major changes:

-Automap plotting 5x faster
-More preferences:
  (1) Fluctuating store prices
  (2) Show spells cast by monsters
  (3) Easier XP advancement
  (4) Fast combat monster equip
  (5) Show monster HP remaining
-New command: Quick P)lot Inhibits plotting expended maze views with
light spells in effect

Jeff also reports that some minor bugs fixes are included in this
release.  The update is available, or will soon be available on the major
Apple II FTP sites such as Trenco (ftp.gno.org), Ground
(ground.ecn.uiowa.edu) and the library section for Syndicomm members.


* New Juiced.GS released

The first issue of Juiced.GS under the able editorship of Ryan Suenaga has
been mailed to subscribers in the US. International readers, and
those who subscribed after April 19th should be receiving their
copies shortly.  Juiced.GS is the last print magazine for
the Apple II computer--information regarding subscriptions can be found at

*KFest Registration

Registration has begun for Kfest 2002 to be held again this year in Kansas
City, KS on the grounds of Avila College.  A must for Apple II fans at
least once in their lives, this mecca for A2 users will be held July 23
through the 28th.  Information including registration and costs can be
